Steps to Complete Your MPA Application

Once the form has been submitted, follow the remaining steps to complete your admissions file Heading link
- Submit UIC’s Graduate Application Online.
- Once on the page, you can either search for the program or select the Master’s Programs link under the program search bar. Select, or search for, Public Administration-Online from the list of available programs, along with your chosen concentration. After you have selected Public Administration-Online, click on Apply and create a log in.
- A non-refundable application fee of $70.00 upon application submission.
- International applicants pay an additional fee, refer to International Requirements.
- Upload Official Transcripts
- You will upload official (electronic) transcripts within the online graduate application, for each institution you have attended.
- Upload your Resume

- Describe your background and academic interests.
- Why did you decide to study public administration/ public policy at the graduate level?
- What are your professional goals?
- How does our MPA degree fit into your short and long-term plans for your professional career?

- Optional Materials
- Applicants may submit a 5–10 page writing sample and up to three recommender surveys. These surveys should be from instructors familiar with the applicant’s academic training or supervisors familiar with the applicant’s professional experiences.
For International Applications Only
- An international credential evaluation fee of $100 is assessed to any applicant presenting coursework taken outside the United States. The evaluation fee must be paid after submission of the application. Please refer to the foreign credential guidelines on the International Admission Requirements webpage.
